Throwback Thursday #TBT! Nail Art Edition

Hi guys!

I’m just going to do a quick post today on something I’ve been thinking about for a while – Throwback Thursday! We all know and (probably secretly) love #TBT on Instagram, so I thought it would be cool to go back and look at some of the nail art I did way before I knew much about nail polish in general. Some of these are from 145 weeks ago (according to Instagram)!

Here are some of my faves – I must say I like em ;D though I am glad I’ve seen an improvement (click image to see it all up close and personal)

How to Save Money on Essie at the Drugstore: Nothing Over $6! (Essie Spring Haul $3.50 – $6 each)

Hi guys! Today I am going to share a few of the new nail polishes I’ve picked up for Spring. They happen to all be Essie, which is weird for me, as I rarely buy Essie’s – they’re pretty pricey and never have sales/coupons but I didn’t pay full price for any of these and I wanted to share how! I share my personal tips for: CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Kohl’s below. Continue reading

Unfavourite/Nail Polish Regret: Essie Cashmere Matte (Just Stitched)

Hi guys!

It’s been a while – I didn’t expect how crazy the end of the first year in grad school would be! But, the end is near.

Today I am showing my first nail polish ‘unfavourite’ and regret in a while – and it’s Essie’s Cashmere Matte in Just Stitched.

Now, I know 99.9% of people loathe these… but for some reason I thought I could make it work. You might have seen when I hauled it on instagram a couple of days ago (@kisslantavegas) – well, it went right back the next day. Continue reading

Easter Nail Art

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing my Easter nail art. I would have loved to do more (and better) Easter nail art this year but grad school caught up to me and next thing I knew, I was doing my first ones at 1am on Easter Sunday… (sounds about right for grad school).

easter1 This is just my basic chick and pastel matte look I came up with – I didn’t have anything specific in mind when I sat down, but I just grabbed a few of my cutest pastel shades and went to town with the dotting 🙂

These are the shades I used: Continue reading

Glitter Mani + NEW Peel Off Base Coat

Hi everyone!

Today I am just sharing the latest mani I did. No nail art to show this time – life has been so hectic! To be honest, I am not a huge fan of this manicure. I did want to share it, though, because I tried a peel off base coat for the first time: NYC’s Strip Me Off. This base coat retails for $1.72 or $1.99, but my CVS had a $1 off coupon on the display.

For this, I followed the instructions on NYC’s website.

NYCIt went on kind of like a watered down glue, but dried to a clear matte-like finish.

When it’s time to take this manicure off, I’ll try peeling it off and post an update. I sure hope it works… because this nail polish was NOT opaque. Continue reading

Doctor Who (Adipose) Nails

Hi everyone!

Today I will be sharing the nails I did a few days ago, before my St. Patrick’s Day manicure. I wasn’t sure what nail art to go for that day, so I asked my boyfriend for a suggestion. Being that we both love Doctor Who, he suggested the cute adipose who were introduced during the tenth Doctor’s tenure. I just love adipose!
